About 155 million U.S. residents aged 18 or older have seen an Out-of-Home digital video display in the past month, according to the Arbitron Out-of-Home Digital Video Display Study. That’s 67% of U.S. adults, and of those who recall seeing a display, 76% noticed them at multiple venues.
The study examined 17 different venues where consumers might see video displays including places like stores, malls, gas stations, movies theaters, and restaurants. According to the report, digital video displays in retail locations alone reach 53% of American adults in an average month. Digital displays at gas stations and movie theaters reach more than 20%.
Overall, digital out-of-home reaches a variety of demographic groups, and is particularly effective at reaching 18 to 34 year olds.
