Automotive Boosts Revised Revenue Forecasts for Most Media

Can you stand one more advertising revenue forecast? The first quarter has just ended, and revised 2010 forecasts are popping up. A new forecast from Barclays Capital has ad revenue numbers for some traditional media types being revised up instead of down for the first time in several quarters.

But how quickly they’ll take over our roadsides has been in question, based on resistance in some areas. Some view any billboard as an unnecessary eyesore. But beyond that, there’s the argument that digital billboards, with their changing ads and lights are a big distraction to drivers.

Outdoor Not Immune: 2008 Q4 Ad Revenue Down 15% After 6 Years of Gains

Outdoor advertising revenues fell 15 percent in the fourth quarter of 2008, according to figures just released by the Outdoor Advertising Association of America. Overall for the year, outdoor dropped 4 percent to $7 billion.
