Search vs. Display: Which Really Works for Retailers?

Some recent Nielsen research (via AdAge) shows that search may not be what’s driving the most traffic to retailer Web sites. This study showed less than 10% of online retailers web traffic came from search, and more than 60% of site visits coming from people going directly to a site.

In fact, the Interactive Advertising Bureau recently endorsed some larger online ad sizes. But recent research shows that when it comes to display ads, bigger may not necessarily be better.

Local Online Ad Dollars Up 46% in 2008

According to Borrell’s just released Local Web Revenues report, local online advertising grew 46% to $12.6 billion in 2008. The report projects a small 6% increase for local online advertising in 2009.
